SheetGenie — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 July 2026

SheetGenie (“SheetGenie”, “we”, “us”, “our”) helps teachers, tutors, and parents create worksheets from their own material. This policy explains what we process, why, the legal bases we rely on, and the rights you have.

SheetGenie works without an account or login. We do not ask for your name, email, or a password to use the app.

Who is responsible for your data (data controller): Saalis Umer, Delhi, India. Contact: sheetgeniesupport@gmail.com.

1. Information we process

Content you provide. Photos, PDFs, Word documents, typed topics, and any instructions you enter to generate a worksheet. We use this only to produce the worksheet you requested.

Anonymous device identifier. A random, app-generated ID stored on your device (no name, email, or login). It lets us track your free credits and saved worksheets without an account. This random ID is treated as an “online identifier” (personal data) even though it is not linked to your real-world identity.

Generated worksheets. Worksheets you create are stored on our servers, linked to your anonymous device ID, so you can see them in your Library.

Purchases. When you buy a credit pack, the purchase is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing and validated through RevenueCat. We receive a purchase confirmation and the credit amount — we never receive your card or payment details.

Feedback & diagnostics. If you submit feedback, we store your rating and text along with basic technical info (app version, platform, OS version, device model, and locale). We also keep short-lived server logs (including IP address) to run the service securely.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. Why we process it, and our legal basis (EEA/UK GDPR)

3. How your content is used (AI processing)

To generate a worksheet, the content you provide is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and then to our AI providers — Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) — which process it to produce the worksheet and answer key. We use these providers’ paid API services; content sent via these APIs is not used to train their models. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

4. Third parties and sub-processors

Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.

5. International data transfers

SheetGenie’s servers are hosted in Singapore, and content is processed by our AI providers in the United States. If you use SheetGenie from the EEA, UK, or India, your data is transferred outside your country. For these transfers we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses (and equivalent safeguards) included in our data-processing agreements with each provider above.

6. Data retention

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights over your data: access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, and objection to processing.

How to exercise them:

We respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within 30 days). There is no charge to exercise your rights.

EEA / UK users

You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk). Our appointed EU/UK representative: not appointed — service not offered in the EU.

California users (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share your personal information and have not done so. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Use the contact above to make a request.

India users (DPDP Act, 2023)

You may request access, correction, and erasure of your data, and raise grievances with our contact above, who acts as our grievance officer for DPDP purposes.

8. Children & students

SheetGenie is intended for educators and adults. The app itself is not directed to children and is not intended for a child to install or use.

Test Links (student responses). A teacher may turn a worksheet into a test and share a class link. When a student opens that link they enter a name (a first name or nickname is enough) and their answers — nothing more. We do not collect a student's date of birth, email, phone number, precise location, or any other contact information, and there are no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking on the student page. A student's name and answers are used solely to let the teacher see and grade their own class's work.

Where a class may include children, the teacher/school directs students to the link and is responsible for having the authority (including, where required, parental or school authorization under laws such as COPPA) to collect student responses for this educational purpose. We act only as the school's processor: student responses are never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to build profiles.

Retention & deletion. Student responses are kept only to deliver the test result to the teacher. A teacher can close a test at any time, and can erase all of their worksheets and student responses using Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my data in the app. If you believe a child's information was provided and should be removed, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We restrict access to stored data and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information and will notify users and regulators of a data breach where the law requires.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
